Dr Ioana Chioveanu is Associate Professor in Industrial Economics at Nottingham University Business School. She holds a PhD in Economics from IDEA, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (now part of Barcelona Scho ol of Economics) and was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Economics at University College London.
Ioana's work has been published in Management Science, Games and Economic Behavior, the Journal of Industrial Economics, the International Journal of Industrial Organization, the Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, and the Scandinavian Journal of Economics, amongst other journals. Her research has been recognized via support from the European Commission (Marie Curie Individual Fellowship) and a young economist essay award from the European Association for Research in Industrial Economics.

Applied microeconomic theory, industrial economics, behavioral economics, competition and consumer protection policy, regulation, digital markets.
Ioana works in theoretical industrial economics. Her research focuses on the impact of the firms' pricing and non-pricing strategies in oligopoly markets and their implications for competition and consumer protection policy. In this context, her research has explored a wide range of topics, including price and market complexity, price framing, price discrimination, strategic obfuscation, persuasive advertising, firm prominence, information frictions, innovation, and consumer bounded rationality.
