I am a labour economist and obtained my PhD from the University of Sheffield. My research mainly focuses on measuring the influence skill shortages have in the UK labour market. I taught for a number of years at Aston university before, being heavily involved in the provision of econometrics modules, before joining Nottingham in 2018. I am keen to see the real-world impact of my academic work and thus have been involved in consultancy projects both for the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO). My recent work for the ILO in Jordan and Lebanon was investigating the potential to mitigate the labour market tension of the Syrian refugee crisis through employment-intensive infrastructure programmes.

I am a keen teacher and enjoy sharing my knowledge of economics with students.
