Elizabeth's research interests can be divided into two areas: sociological approaches to contemporary consumption and the study of Higher Education. Elizabeth co-edited the Routledge collection The Marketization of Higher Education and the Student as Consumer (2011). Since then her work has also appeared in books and journals including Human Relations, Marketing Theory, Studies in Higher Education, British Educational Research Journal, and Consumption Markets & Culture.

Lizzie welcomes PhD applications from those interested in studying:
- Higher Education, especially student and staff behaviour
- Consumerism and consumer cultures

Lizzie is the Director of MSc Marketing and teaches on several modules within the Marketing Department at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Lizzie supervises PhD and Masters dissertation students.
