Junaid is an Assistant Professor in Industrial Economics at NUBS. His research interests lie in Behavioural Economics, Credit Markets, Industrial Organisation, and Public Economics. His current research focuses on the role of beliefs, emotions, and behavioural biases in contract enforcement when formal enforcement mechanisms are missing or imperfect (e.g., microfinance contracts, informal risk-sharing, and tax compliance).
Formerly, Junaid held academic positions at the Universities of Bologna, St Andrews, Liverpool, and Swansea. He studied economics at Bangor, Warwick, California-Riverside (Fulbright Scholar), and Leicester universities. He is a Fellow of the Advanced Higher Education Academy.
