Dr Jian Chen is Associate Professor in Finance. He received his PhD in Finance from King's College London, Masters degree in Management from Xi'an Jiaotong University and Bachelors' degree from Hefei University of Technology.
Dr Chen is a Board Member of the Chinese Economic Association in Europe and was President during 2003-2004.

Dr Jian Chen's research covers corporate finance, including capital structure, political economy of corporate finance; corporate governance, including ownership structure issues and its relation to corporate performance; financial markets.
Dr Chen is interested in supervising PhD students or Master by Research (MRes) students in the following areas:
