Prior to joining NUBS UK, Dr Luis D. Torres was an Assistant Professor at NUBS China for over two years.

Luis has over 12 years of academic and industry experience in China, UK, Chile, and Spain delivering training/teaching and implementing research/consultancy projects within the broad area of business responsibility, sustainability and governance.

Luis is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability, academic member of the Business and Human Rights Scholars Association, and of the European Corporate Governance Institute. Luis also participates as an Associate Director in ESG and Impact for SustainaValue in Chile.

Areas of Expertise
I research and advise on business ethics and sustainability, international regulatory compliance; and sustainability performance measurement, and disclosure.

Luis' previous research focused on comparative regulation, and business and gender equality. Currently, Luis is interested in developing research within two broad agendas:
(1) ESG and impact: environmental, social and governance risks, performance, disclosure and regulation.
(2) Data-driven sustainability: business analytics, data science and machine learning (ML) applications for the design of better public policies, more sustainable busin ess practices, and more responsible consumers.
