Work, Organisation and Management
Our vision is to be a global leader in high quality, interdisciplinary research and education on work, organisation and management, measured by the positive impact we have on our students, external stakeholders, and research communities.
Our teaching, engagement, publication, and funding strategies are clustered around the following themes:
- Work, Employment and Organisation in a Changing World
- Strategic Management, Innovation and Organisational Change for Sustainable Futures
- Public Services, Policy and Governance
We work with employees, employers, managers, policy makers and a variety of organisations including non-governmental organisations, such as the World Health Organisation (WHO), the National Health service (NHS), trade unions, and charities through our vibrant research centre and research groups. These are: the Work, Employment and Organisation (WEORG) group, the Centre for Health Innovation, Leadership and Learning (CHILL), and the Africa Research Group (ARG). Through these communities we carry out impactful research, co-develop tailored solutions and deliver world-class teaching and learning opportunities.
We are committed to high quality, research-led teaching with a particular focus on work-integrated learning and employability skills. We are the home to three successful and attractive MSc courses:
Our MSc in Management ranks in the QS Business Masters Top 100.
We work with diverse stakeholders to co-produce influential research with practical and theoretical applications. Our high-quality research ensures we can provide stimulating, interactive teaching with opportunities to engage with businesses and other organisations. Underlying all our efforts is a passion to create sustainable, resilient organisations led by future-oriented, responsible leaders and managers.
