Dr. Thanaset Chevapatrakul is an Associate Professor in Finance at Nottingham University Business School, where he has been a member of faculty since 2013. Prior to this, he held academic positions at Loughborough University and the University of Leicester, teaching across economics and finance programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Before embarking on his academic career, Dr. Chevapatrakul worked extensively in the private sector as a foreign exchange (FX) trader. This hands-on industry experience provided him with deep insights into the workings of global financial markets, which continues to inform his teaching and research. His professional background bridges the gap between theory and practice, allowing him to bring real-world relevance into the classroom and his academic work.
His research interests lie at the intersection of financial markets and macroeconomics, with a particular focus on how asset prices respond to changing economic conditions and policy environments. He is also increasingly exploring how firms adopt and integrate artificial intelligence to enhance decision-making, operational efficiency, and long-term competitiveness.
Dr. Chevapatrakul’s work has been published in several leading academic journals, including the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, and the Journal of International Money and Finance. He is committed to producing research that is both academically rigorous and relevant to policy and industry.
