Dr Aditya Jain is Associate Professor I n Human Resource Management and Head of the OB/HRM Department at the Nottingham University Business School. He is a member of the Centre for Occupational Health and Development, at the University and a member of the International Standards Organisations 'Health & Safety Management Systems Committee', 'British Standards Human Resource Management Committee', Associate Editor of 'Safety Science' and the Executive Officer of the European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology. He holds a BA(Hons) in Psychology from the University of Delhi and three postgraduate degrees from the University of Nottingham: a MSc in Work and Organisational Psychology, a MA in Public Policy and a PhD in Applied Psychology.

Aditya's expertise li es in maximising organisational productivity, quality, innovation and workers' wellbeing, all of which are linked to the way work is designed and the way in which organisations are managed. His research has focused on the management of psychosocial factors at work and the translation of occupational health and safety knowledge into policy and practice. He also has a keen interest in the role of business in society, particularly in relation to human resource management. More specifically, Aditya's work has focused on establishing the role of softer forms of policy, such as voluntary standards, social dialogue and corporate social responsibility in the area of managing working conditions, particularly in developing countries where legislative frameworks may be weak or non-existent. Aditya has worked on several projects, funded by the European Commission, its agencies and charities such as the British Council and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, which have focused on the management of psychosocial risks and work-related stress as well as the promotion of wellbeing and mental health at the workplace.
Aditya is currently leading on the following projects:
- Evaluating a multi-level participatory psychosocial safety climate intervention
