Corporate social responsibility and governance

The International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility (ICCSR) is at the heart of interdisciplinary research into CSR and Governance across Nottingham University Business School, creating impactful research through cross-network, multi-partner collaborations with a local focus and global reach.

The Centre is one of the largest of its kind in the UK and has a strong focus on research collaborations between internal and external networks, such as the Rights Lab and Future Foods Beacons of Excellence as well as its affiliated tri-campus centres.

Our research is both interdisciplinary and current, with recent projects investigating: consumer wellbeing and resilience in the global Covid-19 pandemic in collaboration with our University of Nottingham Tri-Campus partners located in Malaysia and China, and health inequalities in the City of Nottingham, a participatory creative project delivered in collaboration with the UoN School of Philosophy, Nottingham City Council and New Vic Theatre.

  • The MCAT project, funded by UKRI as part of the Global Challenges Research Fund, proposes an alternative stakeholder engagement practice based on dialogism, reciprocal learning and meaningful participation in conflict-affected societies.
  • Our Sustainable Artisanal and Small-scale Mining (Sust-ASM) research is delivered through an interdisciplinary project team with academics from the social sciences, engineering, health and humanities in the UK and Kenya in conjunction with numerous non-academic stakeholders.
  • The Research England Policy Funding project “A step towards human rights remedy” provides guidance to policymakers and businesses on the provision of grievance mechanisms and access to remedy for marginalised workers.
