Research summary
Background:
This is a decarbonisation study focused on East Midlands Airport, aiming to create green pathways for the region. A key output is the mapping of relevant stakeholders, including logistics and freight firms, infrastructure providers, local enterprise partnerships, and regional chambers of commerce, and analysing their perceived challenges and opportunities in achieving net-zero. The project provides critical insight into the regional net-zero transition through a multi-stakeholder, ecosystem lens.
Research findings
Preliminary findings reveal a shared ambition for decarbonisation but highlight significant barriers around infrastructure readiness, policy clarity, and coordination between private and public stakeholders. Sector-specific needs and expectations have been captured to inform future policy and investment decisions.
