Research - American and Canadian Studies

We are the largest American and Canadian Studies department in Europe and pursue an ambitious research strategy in the field of North American literature, history, culture and politics.

Our multidisciplinary research has developed solutions to address some of the most complex challenges of our time. They have helped put modern slavery survivor voices at the heart of antislavery efforts and led to transformations in the way universities, UK funding bodies, and third-sector organisations engage with Black and Minority Ethnic communities.
