Appointment to Beacon

Congratulations to Heike Bartel (Department of Modern Languages and Cultures: German section) who has been invited to join the leadership team for Future Foods beacon by Prof. David E Salt, Director. The beacon is committed to taking an interdisciplinary approach to researching and making directed intervention in the food system both nationally and international, and is working hard to integrating science, social science and arts & humanities into our research and engagement portfolio. David’s focus this year is to work to build strong links with the arts & humanities and Heike’s appointment is a solid step in this direction.
