Experience STEM Careers - Year 10 Work experience week
Year 10 students are invited to apply for a limited number of one-week work experience placements with the University of Nottingham, Faculty of Engineering. The placements offer a working showcase of the skills and diversity of knowledge that life working in a range of roles in science from technicians to researchers to professional service. This experience is ideally suited to applicants who have an interest and desire to work in science but are not sure of their specific career path. expand their own practical knowledge with the mindset towards a technical career.
Each student will have the opportunity to work in a number of different areas of the faculty. This will allow the students to develop an insight into the scope and diversity of role requiring a science background.
Although the university is keen to receive applications towards work experience, we can unfortunately only offer 8 placements per year and due to operational and teaching requirements.
Year 12 opportunities
There are several student work experience provisions offered every year. In addition, you are welcome to contact induvial research teams directly in the areas you are interested in and if the team have capacity, they may be able to support your placement.
