Free HSK Prep Courses and Exams

To help improve students’ Mandarin Language proficiency and achieve better results in HSK exams, we are pleased to offer free HSK preparation courses to UoN students and staff, and local residents who are currently studying Mandarin with CLAS or NCI . The courses will run for eight weeks from 10th October to 28 November. Any students who have attended six or more sessions will be entitled to a free HSK exam* on 2nd December. 

Why study with us? 

1. HSK exams are the only internationally recognised Chinese language proficiency test. An HSK qualification will look great on your CV.
2. If you wish to apply for scholarships to study in Chinese institutions, the HSK qualification is usually a pre-requisite.
3. You will be taught by qualified Mandarin teachers from NCI.
4. All of the six students who attended last semester’s prep courses with 80%+ attendance have successfully passed their exams, with one of the students achieving a full mark of 200 for HSK 1 and another student 268 out of 300 for HSK level 4.

*Terms and conditions: 

1. This offer is available to UoN students and staff, and local residents who are studying Mandarin with CLAS or NCI only.
2. Those who attend six or more of our eight one-hour workshops this term (i.e. 80% + attendance), will be entitled to a free HSK exam on 2^nd December 2018. The deadline for registering for the exam in December is Thursday 1^st November. You will be expected to pay and register for the exam online at www.nottingham.ac.uk/confucius/hsk-test/index.aspx. NCI will reimburse the exam fee as soon as your 80%+ attendance is confirmed by your teacher. Refund will be arranged automatically through the online store and will be paid to the card you have used to make the payment. It should reach you within 2-3 weeks after the exam.
3. A minimum of three students is required in order for a course to run. Should any courses not recruit sufficiently, we reserve the right to cancel the course.
4. Only extenuating circumstances along with prior notice to your course tutor can be accepted as valid absence, which will not affect your attendance record.
