Ellie had plans to follow a career in law but through her experiences during her time at Nottingham, she is looking at alternative career paths. Through paid part-time work at the university, volunteering and two placements Ellie is now exploring careers involving advocacy, for example, in social research and policy.

Joshua attended a careers event involving Matthew Bannister, media executive and broadcaster, organised by the university and the Students' Union. Joshua found out about Matthew's current podcast, Folk on Foot, and was able to ask him questions about the programme. Exploring roles and sectors through events is an important way to explore what areas might interest you.
