  • CYBER SECURITY ANALYST (DTS77025)

    We are pleased to share details of a permanent, full time opportunity for a Cyber Security Analyst to join our dedicated Cyber Security team based in Digital & Technology Services.

    The Cyber Security Analyst will be responsible for monitoring all computer systems connected to the university network to identify known vulnerabilities, security breaches, potential weaknesses, unusual activity and unauthorised or illegal activity. 

    You will assume responsibility for supporting the university’s endpoint detection and response (EDR) platforms and our security incident and event management (SIEM) platforms to identifying and remediate user account or system compromises. You will use vulnerability management tools detected security weaknesses and assisting with the installation and testing of software and security updates. You will also assist in the production of information security best practice and work closely with the service management team to ensure consistent reporting and feedback of security related incidents and problems. You will have a good understanding of SIEM and/or EDR solutions and knowledge of Windows/Linux administration, vulnerability management

    Your background will include a proven track record of contributing to security focused projects and of administering a range of desktop and server operating systems. You will have experiences of Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) for responding to malware incidents and be familiar with username and directory administration.

    As the successful candidate, you will have a degree/professional qualification or equivalent relevant experience, ideally with an industry recognised IT Security certification (desirable).

  • Test Analyst (INTERNAL ONLY) (DTS769)

    This is an internal opportunity for UoN staff only

    As part of the evolution of the Product Centre function within DTS, including the support of our new HR, Finance and Procurement system (UniCore) and the improvement of our Enterprise Integrations Service, we are delighted to share an internal opportunity for a permanent Test Analyst.  

    As a Test Analyst, you will be required to work across the portfolio within a complex enterprise environment and undertake testing across the full software development lifecycle. You will be involved in reviews of business requirements and will be required to transpose functional specifications to create test plans, scenarios and scripts. You will be confident producing Test Cases, Scripts and Plans independently, employing the most appropriate testing techniques to scenarios and at all times ensuring adherence to agreed process and procedures.

    Your background will include proven experience in a testing/quality assurance role and working with both manual and automated testing tools. You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of structured test environments and processes with exposure to both waterfall and agile environments. Also essential is previous experience of UAT, SIT, System and Regression testing. The ideal candidate will preferably have good experience in test automation and/or performance testing.

    As the successful candidate, you will have a Degree/professional qualification or track record of work experience in a testing/quality assurance function, ideally having worked on large scale projects. You will be ISEB/ISTQB qualified with experience of both waterfall and agile project delivery.

    Please note this is a full time, permanent role (36.25hrs) but part time hours would be considered (minimum of 29hrs per week)

  • Reporting Developer (Oracle) (Internal) (DTS70725)

    INTERNAL VACANCY

    This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only.

    As part of the evolution of the Application Support function within Digital & Technology Services to incorporate support for our newly implemented Oracle Fusion Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, UniCore, we are delighted to share an opportunity for an internal UoN candidate to join our team in a new position of Reporting Developer (Oracle).

    The Reporting Developer (Oracle) will be a technical lead/authority for designing, developing and delivering high-quality reports using Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher (BIP) and Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI). You will be a technical expert in report development, working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand reporting requirements and transform them into meaningful business information, at all times ensuring data integrity and outputs delivered within a coherent architecture.

    This new role provides a fantastic opportunity for an existing UoN staff member to learn new skills and progress into a specialist technical position, ensuring that we maximise the benefits from our ERP system and fully develop its reporting capacity to inform the critical business functions of the university.
