Developing a Framework for Initial Teacher Education and Beyond: Phases and Strands

A new blog post has been published on the British Educational Research Association blog - Research Matters

Written by Stefanie Sullivan and Dr Rupert Knight the blog discusses the challenges of learning to teach and creating a sustained framework for teacher education. The framework aims to establish a common language for all those involved in delivering initial teacher education and provides beginning teachers with a ‘route map’, signposting achievable staging points and offering a measure of reassurance about expected progress at different stages.

Alongside the implementation of the framework, a research project is charting beginning teachers' understanding of the journey of learning to teach and their perceptions of the role phases and strands framework in this process.

Please visit the BERA website to read the full post and find out more about the framework and research.
