Biography

Chris Dodds is a member of the Advanced Materials Research Group (AMRG).

Expertise Summary

I work on the design, scale up and commercialization of microwave and radio frequency processes. Fundamental understanding of the microwave / material interactions at a molecular level is required to maximise the process benefits which include improved energy efficiency, product quality and throughput with reduced environmental impact including carbon footprint.

We are a highly multidisciplinary team working across a wide range of applications and sectors. Recent applications include:-

  • Sustainable Iron Reduction with biomass
  • Sustainable polymer processing
  • Offshore treatment of drilling wastes
  • Energy efficient mineral processing
