Salary |
Your initial salary will be on a point on the University salary band and level within the APM Job Family. Your initial salary will be as indicated in your letter of appointment and/or your written statement of terms and conditions.

Hours of work |
The normal full-time working week is 36.25 hours spread over five days (pro rata for part-time). Your daily hours of work, and if fractional, the dates of your working weeks per year, will be arranged with your Head of School/Department.

Overtime |
This must be approved in advance and will be paid at the appropriate enhanced rate of pay or time off in lieu.
The normal full-time working week of 36.25 hours must be completed before overtime rates are payable.
Monday – Sunday (time and half) - basic hourly rate x 1.5
Bank holidays/University closure days
- Single time - basic hourly rate x 1 (for normal scheduled hours)
- Double time - basic hourly rate x 2 (for hours worked above normal scheduled hours)

Additional hours |
Additional hours are defined as the hours that are worked above an employee’s contractual hours, but do not exceed the full-time hours for that staff group ie 36.25 hours per week as detailed in contracts of employment. Additional hours are paid at base rate ie the basic hourly rate for hours worked above normal scheduled hours.

Annual leave |
The annual leave year runs from 1 October to 30 September (except for staff in Digital and Technology Services, Estates & Facilities, Registry, Academic Affairs and Libraries, where it runs from 1 January to 31 December).
The annual leave entitlement for a full leave year is 27 days/195.75 hours. You will also receive eight (58 hours) Bank Holidays and additional University closure days as may be determined each year by the University Council. All the above is calculated on a pro rata basis for part-time and fractional staff.

Sickness absence and sick pay |
You must notify your line manager or designated person immediately if you are unable to attend work through illness or industrial injury, and ensure this is recorded in UniCore, in accordance with the University sickness notification procedure.
Within any span of 52 weeks, payments of allowances is for the following periods according to length of continuous service:

Pension |
You are entitled to join the University of Nottingham Contributory Retirement Savings Plan (CRSP). This is a defined contribution Money Purchase Pension Scheme. The provider is Legal & General. Existing members of staff who have opted to remain in the Contributory Pension & Assurance Scheme (CPAS) may continue to do so. Legislation requires employers to enrol their employees into a workplace pension scheme where the relevant conditions are met.

Notice period and termination of service |
You are required to give the University either one week or four weeks’ notice in writing, to terminate your contract, if you have served four weeks or more with the University.
The exact notice period you are required to give will be in your contract of employment.
The University is required to give you either one week or four weeks’ written notice of the termination of your contract if you have been continuously employed between four weeks and up to two years.
If you have been continuously employed for two years or more then you will receive one week's notice for every completed year up to a maximum of 12 weeks’ notice after 12 years.
