Project details: Theban Tomb # 29, Upper Egypt; MANT (Mission Archéologique dans la Nécropole Thébaine) New Kingdom, Late Period funerary material, Early Islamic settlement (hermit's house)

  • Identification of plant funerary material (coffins, mats, etc.) 2006
  • Preliminary palaeoethnobotanical study of the hermit's dwelling.

Section in a layer of organic refuse in the courtyard in front of the chapel's entrance. Early Islamic period. The amount of desiccated material, dominated by straw, is clearly visible. Feb. 2006.
