Post-Genomic Technologies Facility

The Post-Genomic Technologies facility (PGT) is located in within the Schools Queen’s Medical Centre site, A Floor, West Block. The facility supports a wide and expanding user base of researchers from diverse disciplines across many research divisions and schools. The facility offers micro and macro array printing, multicolour laser scanning, automated hybridization stations, real-time PCR, plate based fluorescent, luminescence and spectrophotometic analysis, lab-on-a-chip methodologies and support for multicolour flow-cytometric analysis through the nearby Flow Cytometry facility.

The PGT facility is located in an air-conditioned laboratory within the University Hospital, Nottingham and is easily accessed by researchers from the Hospital based academic departments, the University Medical School, Veterinary School, Derby GEM and Jubilee Campuses of the University.

Equipment is accessed and bookable though our web site, which also provides key information on the core facilities, reservation systems and a fully searchable and expanding equipment database.
The PGT website currently handles approx >3.3 million hits per year including external from many countries (20-25% of hits are non- UK). The website and booking system are used to proactively support further integration and efficient utilization of equipment across the multiple areas. Laboratories in the CBS building, BSAU, Plant Sciences and Nutritional Sciences advertise accessible equipment on this site.
