Religious records

Interior of High Pavement Chapel, Nottingham, until 1874

The University of Nottingham holds the records of various nonconformist churches (Presbyterian, Congregational, Independent, Baptist and United Reformed) in Nottingham, Mansfield and Retford, and also the records of the North Midland Presbyterian and Unitarian Association.

The archive of the historic Archdeaconry of Nottingham is one of the most extensive manuscript collections held at the University of Nottingham Library.

Records of religious societies are also present in the University archives. Some papers of individual clergymen can be found in the collections of Personal Papers.

The printed Special Collections include the libraries of some parishes and parish priests.
