Biography of Thomas Thoroton (1663-1721)

 

Thomas Thoroton was a barrister of the Middle Temple, and Recorder of Lincoln. He inherited the manor of Screveton from his father Thomas Thoroton, but mainly lived in London, where he owned property in Portpool Lane and Leather Lane in the parish of St Andrew's, Holborn, and Lincoln. 

Family

Thomas Thoroton married Frances Wheeler, granddaughter of Thomas Constable of London, in 1686, and had:

  • Richard (c.1689-1716), unmarried 
  • Frances (1690-), m John Jenkinson of Lincoln in 1720 
  • Robert Thoroton (1692-1751)
  • Thomas (1693-1712), unmarried
