Kate is a feminist historian of the British Empire who specialises in modern South African and Zimbabwean history. Kate can comment on all aspects of feminist history, in particular female activism in Southern Africa, politics of contraception and reproductive justice, the anti-apartheid movement.
Kate has appeared on BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour to talk about Grace Mugabe, and on BBC regional TV news about Winnie Mandela.
Kate is interested in opportunities for external consultancy and research collaboration.
