Applications for Autumn 2022 are now closed!
Engage children in learning with subject experts!
Sharing knowledge of their specialist subjects, our enthusiastic undergraduate volunteers will enhance the curriculum, by delivering specially prepared lessons. These lessons will help to foster a love for learning and raise children's aspirations.
Starting in Autumn Term 2, the subject options are; History Detectives, Asking Big Questions: Philosophy and Ethics and Beyond the Night Sky.
All projects will include an Introduction Session, where our student volunteers will introduce key concepts about higher education and reveal the project topic.
To complete your Learning Leaders project, we are offering additional aspiration activities, including campus visits. Eligible schools will receive more information about this via email.
Is it for you?
School staff must be present in all sessions to supervise children and support activities
For details of each session and any specific requirements, please see the activity pages linked above
This provision is designed to:
increase awareness and understanding of higher education
engage children in learning
raise pupils’ aspirations for the future
To enhance the Learning Leaders programme, we will be offering eligible schools the opportunity to apply for additional aspiration-based activities. These sessions will further develop pupils' learning about higher education. If your school is eligible, further information will be sent to your key contact via email.
We are funded to work in areas where children would not typically progress to university. Find out if your school is eligible.
