Favour Samuel

Favour Samuel is a distinguished legal professional and student leader who serves as President of the University of Nottingham Students' Union and LLM graduate in International Human Rights Law from the University of Nottingham. By being a lawyer from South Africa with Nigerian heritage, she brings international legal expertise to her advocacy work focused on social justice and women's rights.

Her leadership extends beyond law into community engagement, having served as Youth Leader for the Rose of Sharon Lighthouse Youth Ministry in Johannesburg, where she developed outreach programs serving over 500 underprivileged youth annually. She is also part of a women empowerment campaign in South Africa called Her Way Out that focuses on teaching women about their legal rights and helping women who are domestic violence survivors in getting protection orders or restraining orders against their abusive partners recognizing that women's rights are human rights.

Favour represents a new generation of African leaders who bridge global justice movements with advocacy. Her unique position as both a legal professional and student union president positions her to authentically address the intersection of law, policy, youth and student activism in contemporary social justice movements.
