Helen Miles is an alumnus of the University of Nottingham, graduating in 1991 with LL.B Hons.
She is a practising solicitor and has specialised in advising occupational pension scheme trustees and employers for more than 30 years. She has been a partner in international law firms for more than twenty years, including DLA Piper, Squire Patton Boggs and her current firm, Gunnercooke llp.
Helen was the independent Chair of the NHS Pensions Board for England & Wales for six years, from 2019.
Helen has a keen interest in supporting governance of educational institutions, particularly in the UK Midlands. She is a Governor and Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee at The Birmingham Metropolitan College, as well as being joint Vice Chair of Governors at the Royal National College for the Blind.
