Undergraduate Admissions Requirements

The Business School currently admits around 650 students each year onto its Single Honours programmes.

All candidates to whom we make an offer are invited to visit the Business School and to meet members of staff and students. However, the School does not normally interview candidates for its BA degrees but makes an offer on the basis of the information contained on a UCAS form.

Applicants come to the Business School with a wide range of 'A' level backgrounds in both arts and science subjects. 'A' level Economics is not a requirement, but we do require at least GCSE grade B in Mathematics.

Applicants can typically expect an offer of AAB at 'A' level (excluding General Studies). For Management Studies with French, Management Studies with German and Management Studies with Spanish an 'A' level in the subject language is required.

Please note that although offers are quoted in terms of 'A' Level grade requirements, it is expected that applicants offering Curriculum 2000 qualifications will, in addition, achieve a pass grade in at least one 'AS' subject or additional 'A' Level.

Non Standard Applications
The Business School fully appreciates that some candidates will apply from more unusual backgrounds and in these instances we may interview candidates in whom we see merit. Applications from mature candidates are also particularly welcome. In such cases academic and professional backgrounds are individually considered in deciding whether an offer is possible. Applications from participants on access courses are also welcomed. Naturally, it is unlikely that overseas students will be able to visit the University or to be interviewed. Each application is therefore treated on its merits, and no general requirements can be laid down. Overseas applicants must read the University's Information for Students from Overseas. Copies may be available locally, for example in the Offices of the British Council, or can be obtained from the School.

Open Days
Several Open Days are held in the School during the months of December, February, March and April. Details of particular dates are communicated once offers have been made.

Admissions Queries
If you have admissions queries, in the first instance please check our Applications FAQ page. You can also visit the School's contacts page to request an Undergraduate Programmes Course Guide in hardcopy, or to contact admissions tutors or other members of staff who manage the undergraduate programmes.

Student fees and finance for 2012/13

The University of Nottingham has announced plans to set undergraduate fees for full-time home and EU students at £9,000 from 2012. Fees do not have to be paid up-front and a generous package of bursaries will be available to support home students from lower-income families. Well over a third of our students will be eligible for our core bursaries, which offer up to £3,000 for each year of undergraduate study.

For further information please visit the Student fees and finance website.

Please note: The University of Nottingham's proposed fees and bursary arrangements are subject to approval by the Office for Fair Access.
