The weekly Postgraduate Seminar series is run by the Postgraduate students for Postgraduate students in the School of English on Tuesday afternoons at 4.30 pm in A54, Trent Building.
The Seminar is designed to give every postgraduate student the opportunity to present their work to their peers, and to facilitate informal discussion in a supportive and friendly environment.
The Seminar is also intended as a means of maintaining a postgraduate community, providing a regular point of social contact with your peers throughout your studies. It will function as a primary source of communication of information - both from your experienced postgraduate colleagues, and from members of staff - about events, opportunities, developments within the School and administrative matters relevant to you.
All members of staff in the School are invited - and will often be part of the panels and roundtable discussions. The skills and training seminars are open only to students from the School of English. All other seminars are open to postgraduate students from other schools.
The format of the Seminar varies widely through the year, offering a mixture of Discussion Fora; postgraduate presentations (both formal and informal, including:
