Quantum Monte Carlo for cold atoms

This was a pilot project, supported by a Mary Cannell scholarship in the summer of 2005 to develop quantum Monte carlo techniques for the study of Bose-Hubbard type models which describe ultra-cold boson systems in optical lattice potentials. We hope to devlop this project further in the coming year, specifically to examine the behaviour of spinor bosons and bosonic models appropriate to higher bands in optical lattices.
