Performance Canoe

Description
Canoeists studying at the University of Nottingham benefit from generous scholarship packages and tailored individual support to help you balance your studies with the demands of elite training. The university is located within easy reach of the National Water Sports Centre and a close partnership allows our students extensive access to the white water and flat courses located within the park. Student athletes can also take advantage of the state-of-the-art training facilities at the £40 million David Ross Sports Village, including a 200-station fitness suite, High Performance Zone and Sports Injury Clinic. Student athletes join a rich heritage of success on the water; our alumni have won multiple medals across the last four Olympic Games, including a silver for David Florence at the Rio 2016 Olympics and gold at London 2012 for Tim Brabants MBE, Etienne Stott MBE and Campbell Walsh MBE.

Performance Cycling

Description
Riders coming to the University of Nottingham will form part of one of the best set ups in the country. Head Coach Bryan Steel is a two-time Olympic Medallist and leads a thriving performance culture which saw the club end the 2018/19 season ranked 3rd in the UK, a rise of 7 places from the previous year. Utilising world class facilities such as Derby Velodrome, Harvey Hadden Closed Circuit and the Peak District the club provides a performance outlet for students specialising in all disciplines (Track, Road, Mountain Biking).

Performance Fencing

Description
Elite fencers studying at The University of Nottingham join a unique set up, with access to world-class fencing and support facilities at the state of the art David Ross Sports Village, expert coaching and comprehensive sports scholarships.

Performance Futsal

Description
Futsal players studying at the University of Nottingham join a unique performance progamme; as well as a large British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) programme. Players benefit from a strong performance environment including state-of-the-art playing and support facilities at the £40 million David Ross Sports Village, nutritional advice and sports pyschology training.

Performance Golf

Description
The University of Nottingham Golf Club has three teams, which provide for elite players from plus handicaps to more social players with handicaps of mid-teens. The club participates in the BUCS league and cup competitions as well as providing opportunities for the most able to play in individual competitions . It is also part of the Nottingham Varsity programme.Although the club caters for members with a range of handicaps it is required that you have your own golf clubs and equipment and have played golf to the above ability before.The club operates a Performance Squad for players with 1st team potential, which provides strength and conditioning and physiotherapy services, in addition to nutrition and sports psychology support. This consists of roughly 10 members who will have access to the above benefits. More widely, the rest of the squad will have access to group coaching once a week and are heavily involved in playing matches.

Performance Men's Hockey

Description
Hockey players studying at University of Nottingham join an extensive set up with six male squads competing in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues. Our hockey facilities are world-class; we've recently opened a international-standard water-based hockey pitch within the Nottingham Hockey Centre adjacent to campus and the £40 million David Ross Sports Village houses state-of-the-art physiotherapy and strength and conditioning facilities.With several University alumni having represented Team GB at the Olympics, including a bronze medal for Anne Panter at the London 2012 Games and victory in the 2015 national university championships we have a strong heritage of performance success combined with significant investment in the facilities and players of the future!The University of Nottingham Men's Hockey club are proud to partner with One Sports Warehouse as an equipment supplier. The men's Rugby Union Club enjoys a national reputation for rugby, attracting performance rugby players who want to balance their continued rugby development with studying at one of the UK's top Universities.

Performance Netball

Description
Players studying at University of Nottingham join one of the university's fastest developing programmes, with access to some of the best netball facilities in higher education sport as well as establishing strong links between the University and England Netball. As a result of this, the facility hosts annual events such as NPL competitions and England Roses training camps.

Performance Rowing

The university is located within easy reach of the River Trent and the National Watersports Centre, and a close partnership allows our students extensive access to the 2km buoyed course. Performance Squash

Description
Squash players studying at The University of Nottingham join a top University programme with an impressive record of developing world-class players. Alumni include former British and European #1 Peter Marshall, Commonwealth medallist Emma Beddoes, current world ranked #25 Coline Aumard, multiple BUCS medallist Hana Ramadan an current Commonwealth Champion Gina Kennedy.

Performance Table Tennis

Description
Table tennis players studying at The University of Nottingham join the strongest and most established programme of any UK university. Nottingham has an impressive history of national and international triumphs, with the most successful female player of all time, four-times Olympic champion Deng Yaping, amongst our alumni. National and Commonwealth champions include alumni Alex Perry, Nicola Deaton, Daniel Reed and Maria Tsaptsinos, who won Team bronze at the 2018 Gold Coast Games alongside Head Coach Kelly Sibley. The £40 million David Ross Sports Village acts as a hub for English performance table tennis; we host England national squad training and University of Nottingham students have access to regular training and coaching alongside the world's top 100 players. Strong links to China, Malaysia and Europe also offer the opportunity to compete and train abroad.

Performance Tennis

Description
Tennis players studying at the University of Nottingham join one of the most ambitious set ups in the country. The programme is supported with LTA funding, boasts an experienced coaching team and is one of only five universities in the UK to host a TASS player/coach. Frequent team training and individual sessions allow talented young players to drive their game forwards, whilst studying for a degree at a global top 70 university. We're proud to partner with the Nottingham Tennis Centre, located adjacent to our University Park Campus, to offer unrivalled training facilities for our student athletes. The venue, which boasts 34 courts total, hosts multiple major tournaments including a WTA Tour and ATP Challenger Event (Nature Valley Open) before Wimbledon.It is an exciting time to join the University of Nottingham team as they ranked 2nd in BUCS Tennis rankings in 2019/20 and had more teams reach the BUCS Cup finals than any other institution in the UK (3 out of 4 teams).
