Extensive growth facilities enable studies in a range of model plants and crop species including tomato, oil seed rape, wheat, barley and rice
Field trial sites
We have capability to deliver between 25 - 30 field trials per year, comprising up to 10,000 plots across 15 hectres. Trials are conducted by a specialist team with access to field trial specific equipment and machinery.
We can undertake work in a number of areas including:
- Crop varieties
- Seed rates
- Agrochemicals
- Environmental impacts
Demonstration trials can also be conducted for commercial companies.
Growth rooms
Our controlled growth room space ranges from simple lit reach-in cabinets to high specfication walk-in rooms with precise, uniform and repeatable control of parameters:
- Temperature
- Light
- Humidity
- Carbon dioxide
- Other environmental conditions
Glasshouses
We have over 1800m² glasshouse and polytunnel growing space serviced by a specialist team. We can undertake work in a number of areas including:
- Seed bulking
- Plant nutrition
- Plant physiology
