Fees and Funding

Postgraduate taught students are responsible for arranging their own funding to cover fees and living expenses. It is best to apply early for your course, giving yourself the maximum amount of time to look for available funding.

Funding

Government loans for masters courses

The Government, through the Student Loans Company (SLC), is offering Postgraduate Loans of up to £10,609 for eligible students who are studying a standalone taught or research Masters course of 180 credits, commencing between August 2018 and July 2019.

Postgraduate studentships in the social sciences

Nottingham is part of the Midlands Graduate School ESRC Doctoral Training Partnership, which offers funding opportunities for UK and EU postgraduate students each year, including tuition fee scholarships and money towards living expenses. Tuition fee deposit

If you are successful in being offered a place, you will be required to pay a £2,000 tuition fee deposit within a specified period in order to secure your place. The tuition fee deposit is offset against the tuition fee when you register on your MSc course.

If you require a Tier 4 (General) student visa to study in the UK this tuition fee deposit is separate and in addition to your £2,000 CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) deposit.
