The latest Research Excellence Framework ranked us 8th among UK business schools for research power. This high standard of research activity informs the content and design of all our PhD pathways, ensuring that we combine relevant academic theory with good practice.
The University of Nottingham is part of the Midlands Graduate School ESRC DTP, one of only 14 Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTPs) in the UK funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). The ESRC’s Doctoral Training Network delivers postgraduate studentship funding for UK and UE students across the full range of the Social Sciences.
A research degree will provide the launch-pad for a successful career in academia, commerce, industry, the public sector or as an entrepreneur. Many graduates now work in top research universities, major multi-national corporations worldwide, or are running businesses.
Our students include those who have excelled academically and the natural next step of their journey is a research degree. They are driven by the shared objective to learn and discover.
