Research and Thought Leadership

The UK's latest research ranking confirms our position as a top research-led business school. REF 2014 ranks us 6th in the UK by 'research power'.

It is the quality of this research that provides the foundation for the excellent teaching at the Business School.

We are home to a number of leading research centres and institutes which reflect our strengths in areas such as finance and financial services, healthcare management, sustainability and corporate social responsibility, and enterprise and innovation.

Research is central to all activities in the Business School. A vibrant and collaborative community of over 100 doctoral research students is central to our research culture. We expect high standards of our doctoral students so we are dedicated to investing in students' growth and learning.

The University of Nottingham is part of the ESRC-funded Midlands Graduate School Doctoral Training Partnership. One of just 14 DTPs nationally, the Midlands Graduate School allows ESRC postgraduate scholarships to be awarded to UK and EU students at Nottingham
