Tiara Cosme
MA in Film, Television and Screen Industries: 2017 - present

I am originally from Puerto Rico and love to travel the world to see and learn from new cultures as well as their stories. My passions lie within managing projects, acting, and technology—but my biggest loves will always be snacks and sleep! I have been honored to become the course representative, along with another great course mate, and be able to be the voice of the MA programme. I also participate in societies, such as Film Society and CFM Society, Hall presidency, and will soon work with the university’s Students as Agents (SACA) programme.

I finished my undergraduate degree online due to full-time and part-time jobs, which limited my ability to grow and enter the entertainment industry. I knew that doing an MA degree would give me a better understanding of how the industry works in terms of studio production and management. After travelling to Europe before graduating from the BA, I knew I wanted to continue to travel, but knew it would be harder if I wanted to further my education. Thus, I researched for universities abroad with great opportunities, such as networking and internship opportunities, as well as financial aid that would allow me to both see the world and ignite my career.

I certainly appreciate the support from my course mates and professors to push me outside of my comfort zone. My next step is to focus on gaining more experience within film production companies and their studios. I hope to secure an internship during the summer break, either in Los Angeles or London, to increase my network and add to my CV.
