Department of Modern Languages and Cultures

Language as cultural heritage, language stories, language and diversity

One of the themes we focus on is how to increase understanding of, and celebrate, language(s) and linguistic diversity, both in Nottingham and further afield. The objective of one of our projects is a bank of engaging hands-on activities about language(s), to increase understanding of and celebrate language(s) and linguistic diversity. Other areas include language as cultural heritage in other spheres, in the classroom, in film and other media, in museums; language diversity in other areas such as the professional fields of translation or teaching; and interaction with industry.
