Description: Friday 24 November saw over 40 UoN staff, students and local residents come together for the last NCI Mandarin Corner event of the autumn term. The theme of the session was Chinese music and it began with a brief introduction to a variety of traditional Chinese musical instruments including bamboo flute, xun, hulusi, suona and guzheng, followed by some excellent performances by University of Nottingham student musicians.

Description: Saturday 11th November saw seven candidates demonstrate their Mandarin skills in front of a panel of judges and over 30 spectators at the 15th "China and Me" Speech Competition at the Si Yuan Centre. The candidates included one staff member and six UoN students.

Description: Saturday 30 September saw over 200 local Nottingham residents enjoy an uplifting fusion of modern and traditional Chinese and Western music at the Autumn Charity concert 2023, organised by Nottingham Confucius Institute in partnership with the University's Lakeside Arts.

Description: Wednesday 26 July saw nearly 70 University staff, students and local residents join the Nottingham Confucius Institute's Summer School for the final sessions of 2023 at the Si Yuan Centre, home to NCI.

Description: On Sunday 9 July, Nottingham Confucius Institute (NCI) held its annual teacher training programme at Si Yuan Centre. The event ran from 9:30am to 2:00pm and attracted over 50 attendees, including teachers from local primary and secondary schools, Confucius Institutes and master's students from Nottingham's School of Education.

Description: 23 June saw over 40 Nottingham staff, students and local residents join NCI in celebrating Dragon Boat Festival at the last of this year's summer-term Mandarin Corner sessions.

Description: Selected and trained by Nottingham Confucius Institute, UoN student Jennifer Heaney, competed against 18 other university students selected from over 10 Confucius Institutes in the UK and came second at the preliminary London leg of the 22nd Chinese Bridge competition, a prestigious contest in Chinese language proficiency and cultural knowledge for non-native speakers.

Description: Nottingham Confucius Institute were proud to present the drama "Behind the Curtained Door" at the Djanogly Theatre, Lakeside Arts on Friday 16 June. It was commissioned by Manchester Confucius Institute and developed in collaboration with the University of Manchester's Drama Department.
