Concerned about a student or colleague

The University Counselling Service offers guidance and advice to staff who may be concerned about a student or colleague.

You can book an advisory consultation or speak to one of the counsellors over the phone. We might not be able to respond immediately, but we will always try to speak to you as soon as possible.

Extenuating circumstances

We provide specific information about how we can help in extenuating circumstances.

Please note, tutors should not send students to our service for the explicit purpose of obtaining evidence to support extenuating circumstances. We can usually only provide evidence in cases where a student has a history of contact with the service prior to their claim.

Courses and training for staff

There are a number of training courses available for staff to help them work with students and colleagues in a positive way.
