Help and support

During the start of each academic year, we provide additional support to help you get set up and connected to a wide range of IT services.

Smart Bars

The Smart Bar is a term-time service offering peer-to-peer IT support and advice on a wide range of queries, including your IT account, laptop and mobile devices, email, Office 365, Teams and software options.

check_circle   Ask for help at our virtual Smart Bar via Teams, Monday to Friday 10am - 6pm.

check_circle   Get in-person help on campus at our physical Smart Bars.


Smart Bars are currently closed and will reopen in September.



IT Support Tutors

Our IT tutors will be on hand when you arrive on campus to provide on-the-spot support and help you get set up. 

In September, you will find our IT Tutors at the following locations: 

  • near university Halls of Residence welcome points
  • near Student Service Centres
  • and at our virtual Smart Bar

Faculty IT Induction

At the start of the new academic year, we offered all new and returning students the opportunity to attend an online IT Induction to discover more about services on offer.

You can watch a recorded version of a Faculty IT induction here, or dowload a PDF version of the slides here. The content is relevant to all students, and is not faculty specific.

Each induction session will be recorded and the meeting links will be replaced with the recording afterwards.

 

 

If you have any follow on questions after your IT Induction, you can post questions on the virtual Smart Bar.

Our dedicated IT Service Desk is available 24/7, and we have experts on hand to help with all your IT needs.

check_circle   We offer specialist support with IT accounts, passwords, Multi-Factor Authentication and all other IT services
