Help and support

During the start of each academic year, we provide additional support to help you get set up and connected to a wide range of IT services.

IT Support Tutors

Our IT tutors will be on hand when you arrive on campus to provide on-the-spot support and help you get set up. 

In September and October, you will find our IT Tutors at the following locations: 

  • Near university Halls of Residence welcome points
  • Near Student Service Centres
  • Our virtual Smart Bar

Smart Bars

The Smart Bar is a term-time service offering peer-to-peer IT support and advice on a wide range of queries, including your IT account, laptop and mobile devices, email, Microsoft 365, Teams and software options.

Smart Bars are currently closed and will reopen week commencing 23 October - until then, you can visit our IT tutors at Student Service Centres as per the schedule above.



Faculty IT Induction

At the start of the new academic year, we offer all new students the opportunity to attend an online IT Induction to discover more about services on offer.

The UG and PGT induction sessions for September have now finished. The slides and recording are available here:

 

Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes and allows time for questions.

Our dedicated IT Service Desk is available 24/7, and we have experts on hand to help with all your IT needs.
