Postgraduate Research Degrees

We are a leading centre for research in education, with a broad commitment to improving and investigating social justice and equality in education.

We encourage highly-motivated, enthusiastic and talented students to apply for a postgraduate research place. We provide a dynamic research environment where research students study alongside academic experts.

Our research programmes are made up of students from across the world. Some students are studying and living here in the UK, while other students are based in their own country with periodic visits to the UK to see their supervisor.

We are committed to creating the best conditions, intellectual stimulus, academic and pastoral support. In particular, we take very seriously our commitment to provide high-quality supervision to all our research students.
