Description

The prestigious engineering Christmas Lecture 2015 - "Sound and Light"

Aiming to put the fun back in science lessons, the Christmas Lecture 2015 promises more interactive foyer demonstrations and a lecture full of surprises.

Aimed at Gifted and Talented Years 9 to 11 with an interest in science and engineering, this year we are offering a lecture on the theme "Sound and Light", designed to enhance the national curriculum and show how exciting and diverse the world of engineering is. The lecture brings sound to life by visibly demonstrating sound waves, and the fascinating world of fibre optics will be explored.

Alongside the fun and enlightening lecture, there will be foyer activities such as baby heart rate monitors, plasma speakers, cloud chambers and sonoluminescence to enjoy!

Please book early to avoid disappointment, a reserve list will also be maintained.

Places are free of charge (limited to one coach load per school) and can be booked online using the registration form link above.

Free coach parking is provided locally at Queens Drive park and ride for the duration of the event.  Places are limited to 1 full coach per school.
