We are... performers

Rosie-Sutherland

Theatre had always been a huge factor when applying to university, and Nottingham ticked all the boxes for me! I have been able to exhibit my love of theatre in an academic context, from studying plays, to script-writing to physically creating theatre. My third year undergraduate module allowed me to direct a team of 17 others to create a show, in which everyone was able to bring their own unique edge to the performance, be that through their set designs, marketing skills or even composing their own pieces. This module provided me with so many transferable skills, including communication and leadership unobtainable from just sitting behind a laptop writing essays, as well as being a lot of fun!

As a prominent member of Nottingham New Theatre, I’ve also had the opportunity to work alongside talented writers whilst producing, acting and directing in a variety of student written shows, leading to a selection to attend the National Student Drama Festival in 2019 and 2020.
