Health and Wellbeing

Workplace wellbeing relates to all aspects of your working life, from the quality and safety of your physical environment, to how you feel about your work.

We have a legal duty of care to staff under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.  We have an obligation and desire to ensure the health, safety and welfare of our entire staff in order to achieve business objectives.

Please see the following relevant Health and Safety policies:

Safety Office

The Safety Office is responsible for providing advice and support to all Schools/Departments to ensure a safe working environment for all staff, students and visitors.

Occupational Health

Occupational Health provides independent specialist medical advice to employers and employees on various health related matters at work.

Health Service

The University's Health Service is based in Cripps Health Centre, which also contains a dental practice, occupational health and a Boots pharmacy.

Counselling Service

The Counselling Service is a free service for all staff and students of the University.

Sport & Exercise

Staff are able to access the Universities sports and recreation facilities by joining one of the three memberships offered on a salary sacrifice basis.

Environmental Sustainability

We highly value the environmental agenda and are committed to becoming a leading green University.  This section contains information on the GoGreener campaign.

Faith Support & Advice

Chaplains are here to support students and staff of any faith or none. Whatever your background, the Chaplains are here to support you in your journey of faith; your practice of your own faith, or your exploration of faith.

Equality & Diversity Staff Networks

We currently have five self-organised gropus of interested staff which provide a supportive forum for the discussion of workplace issues.  These networks are open to all staff members regardless of job family or staff group.
