Self-Employed/Contract for Services

Definition of self-employed/contract for services

"An individual who runs their own business."

Self-employed workers do not have the employment rights and responsibilities of employees and are not paid through PAYE.

They agree the terms of their contract with the client and aren't under direct supervision when working.

They submit an invoice for work they have done and any pre-agreed expenses.  They are responsible for paying their own NI and tax contributions.
