Recent Publications

I write opinion articles using my philosophical skills to analyse social and political issues. I'm especially interested in understanding the challenges that new populism and far-right groups pose to democracy, the social implications of new technological developments, and the connection between these. My journalistic articles are currently published in Aristegui Noticias, a Mexican outlet directed by the internationally-awarded journalist Carmen Aristegui. I have also written in Proceso, SinEmbargo, Letras Libres, and Diario de Yucat√°n.

Current Research

My research is in Early Modern Philosophy, particularly metaphysics, philosophy of mind, and epistemology. I am specially interested in early modern rationalism. My current research explores Spinoza's account of the place of mentality in nature.

I am happy to consider proposals from research students wanting to work in any of these areas.
