PhD success for David Mosley

Congratulations to David Russell Mosley who has successfully completed his PhD under supervisors Simon Oliver and Mary Cunningham.

David’s research focused on the role of deification, or “theosis”, in Christian theology and the role of human creativity in deification. He argued that deification is an essential aspect of Christian theology as it’s related to the purpose for which God created humanity. Additionally, since God is Creator in most Christian and other traditions, human beings participate and imitate God when they create. David consequently focused on poetry and fantasy to examine ways in which human creativity is related to deification.

David has been contracted to publish his thesis with Fortress Press in their Emerging Scholars series.
