Phased re-opening of our libraries

All University of Nottingham libraries are currently closed, but we are working hard on plans for phased re-opening.

We are still available online to support students, researchers and academic staff with accessing our services and resources. Visit help and support


Library essentials

Pop in to your libraries

Your University Card gives you access to our eight libraries.

  • We are open year round, often 24/7.
  • Choose from a mix of group, silent and quiet study spaces.
  • Ask staff wearing blue lanyards for help.

Libraries and opening times


Borrowing books

Use your University Card to borrow items at the self-service machine in our libraries.

  • You can borrow up to 60 items.
  • You only need to bring them back if someone else requests them.
  • Return requested items on time to avoid fines.

Booking study rooms

Book a study room in libraries using your Office 365 Calendar.

  • Book a room for up to three hours
  • Book up to two weeks in advance
  • You can only have one active booking at a time
