What are academic skills?

Academic skills are the tools you use on a daily basis as a student. You may not have lectures on these skills, but they are an important part of your studies.

Every student studies differently, and you may want to explore new strategies as you go through your degree.

  • Academic writing
  • Critical thinking and argument
  • Group work
  • Note making
  • Preparing for exams
  • Presentation skills
  • Reading
  • Referencing
  • Revision
  • Time management

Where can I find resources?
